Thanks to a fortuitous partnership with Pulmuone and their LOHAS Acadmey campus in Goesan, Lumynt was able to train up new doctorate volunteers and expand to what it is today. Though South Korea overall does well educationally, there is yet much need in the countryside.
Uijeongbu, Hankkum School

On Lumynt’s 2017 trip to Korea, we were lucky to meet those serving refugees who have fled the North. In 2018, we began a partnership to help inspire those students who are trying to make up for lost years.
Seoul, US Embassy Science Day
2020
Dr. Hae-Jeong Lee was in detail to develop an outreach initiative program for the Women in STEM Program at the US Embassy in Seoul, Korea. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual and hybrid programs were created. Middle and high school science teachers were trained in hands-on science programs with the assistance of various scientific professionals from academia, research institutes, and industries. Several members of the Lumynt team volunteered as professional volunteers for the Embassy Science Day.
Ansan, Sin Gil High School, Science Day

For three years, the Lumynt team participated in various events at Sin Gil High School, such as Women’s Science Day, to inspire high school girls to explore their potential in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. Several events were held virtually due to COVID-19.
Gapyeong, Jangchungdan Church Retreat
2023
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lumynt team began offering in-person science camps and participated in the summer youth retreat at Jangchungdan Church to help revitalize the downtown church’s declining youth department. Additionally, ten middle and high school students from a neighboring Mongolian church were also invited to the Science Camp.
Mokpo, Youth Retreat for Sinan Gun Churches
2024
The Lumynt team participated in the Summer Retreat for middle and high school students from the 72 churches in Sinan Gun, Mokpo and they offered science and English camps. For the first time, children of Lumynt professional members conducted an English camp for the students in 2024
Cheonan, North Korean Defector Pastors’ Retreat
2024
The Lumynt team participated in the North Korean Defector Pastors’ Retreat to provide science and English camps for the children of the defector pastors. Similarly, the children of Lumynt professional members conducted an English camp for the students in 2024.
